Rostock is perfect to recover in your vacation. There are so many places to stay and eat within a 1520 minute drive of the city.We stayed at Hotel Amour de Charente on our way to France from Germany, and it was definitely a good experience. The location is great, close to all the sights, restaurants, beaches and the train station. In addition, the staff was very friendly and helpful. They provided a full breakfast breakfast included, but also gave us a map for exploring the area. We didn't take advantage of their free internet access, but we could have used that instead if we had been more inclined to use it. Overall, we would recommend this hotel to anyone who is traveling to or visiting Rostock. I will definitely be back!The room was big and spacious with a private bathroom. It was quite dark, however, so we slept well enough despite the darkness. My only complaint was the pillow placement. You get a soft pillow about 2 inches above your head, which meant that my sleeping bag was just barely touching the edge of my bed. Other than that, everything else was great. All in all, I would give Hotel amour De Charante 4 out of 5 stars. Would highly recommend. And if you plan on using your private shower, you can skip the small tub and simply use the water from the sink faucet. This saves both time and money. However, if privacy is important to you, don't sleep without a sheet. Not only does this save you tons of cash, it also reduces your chances of getting sand in any crevices around your body. Also, since you won't be able to see the showerhead, avoid showering while you're in bed, as there is no easy way left to open the door. Finally, make sure to bring earplugs during the day due to the volume of noise coming from outside the hotel. If you want to spend the evening outdoors, either bring an umbrella or bring a light blanket. Otherwise, keep yourself occupied by reading books, doing your own laundry, watching movies, etc. As far as food goes, there are several places within walking distance that serve meals, although they require a reservation. Since there isn't much of a selection, try to stick to restaurants that accept credit cards. Although we found the place to be pretty pricey, especially considering the location, most people were satisfied with the meal.
