One of Nantimes most striking architectural landmarks is the Jardin Public, constructed in 1725. This garden is situated in what is called le parc public, or public park, where you can see a variety of plants and trees. Another interesting sight is Le Palais des Sports de Paris, designed by Claude Perrault. Built in 1877, this is perhaps the oldest sports centre in Europe. A walk through the gardens will take you past numerous statues that represent famous athletes. Also included in these gardens are sculptures created by artists of various nationalities. Finally, there is La Tour Eiffel, which is known for its many structures erected during the 20th Century. Its most famous structure is probably its central tower, completed in 1937. Here you may enjoy a 360 degree view of Paris. All of these places are only a short stroll away from Nanteis station. To get to Nants train station, take line 3 to Pont Alexandre follow signs to Grand Rue. From there, exit at rue de lHorloge. Take line 8 to rues Saint Jacques and Sainte Marie. Then take the first stop light to place du Parc, then the next stop to Place Saint Michel. You will be able to purchase tickets for your train ticket from a machine in front of Platform 2.
