The water quality in Regensburg is not good, but still we can make a lot of friends. Its our home town and we love it here!Regen was originally founded by the Hesse, Saxon dukes of Bavaria in the early 17th century as an outpost city on the river Rhine. Over the following centuries, the duchy grew into the heart of the German empire, and in 1803 it was formally established as the state of Saxony. Today, Regen stands on a peninsula jutting out from the banks of its river, surrounded by hills and forests.In the 19th Century, it saw a period of economic boom when it hosted many factories that manufactured a variety of goods shoes, hats, clothing, furniture, toys, household itemsand even motorcars. During this time, many of these products became available in other parts of Germany in Frankfurt, Leipzig, Munich and Stuttgart. The growth of industry also spurred the development of new industries like coal mining and glass production. This led to more people moving to the area, with the majority residing in villages along the Ruhr. As a consequence, a large number of small farmers were displaced due to increased population and housing demands. In addition, because of pollution concerns, some farmers moved away or built their own housing. For instance, in 1931, several hundred families moved to nearby towns such as Neuenbrgstadt and Bitterfeld now part of Bielefeld.A large part has remained within Regeneration, including the old village centre, which is now a park and playground for children. Other smaller communities have also grown up around the lake e.g. the lakeside suburb of Gstrow. Although Regenhoferstrasse is well known throughout Germany, there are numerous smaller villages dotted along this street. To the west of Regengasse lies the town of Reims, while to north of it is located the medieval town called Eberbach.

Sightseeing in Regensburg is astonishing. I had the opportunity to take a trip through the city and it was an unforgettable experience. The views were breathtaking, but the best part was the people.I spent a lot of time with locals and they were so friendly and kind. We saw many shops and restaurants that were worth checking out. It was great to see the beautiful architecture and learn about the history of this beautiful town. There are so many places to visit in this area, so be sure to get there early if youre planning on seeing the main sights. For those who dont have time to go around, the Regenkultur Museum is just minutes away from the center of the town!If you like the arts, there are several museums near the train station. They include a theater, a music museum, an art gallery, and even an avantgarde art museum. You can find all these things right off the railroad line. Dont forget to pack your camera!
