In our records the tapwater in Corfu is bad. You can use tapwater to cook, but it is not drinkable. Please use bottled water.
Corfu is in case of water quality gross. The project was carried out by the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, under the supervision of a Joint Task Force JTF consisting of representatives from national agencies. The JTF includes experts from local authorities, state governments, EU and EUfunded research programmes, as well as civil society organisations. In this context, the work was coordinated by an independent team appointed by both EU institutions and local stakeholders. It aims to assess the existing situation with regard to environmental conditions and water management within the catchment area of the river. This work also aims at setting up the first comprehensive environmental monitoring network for the water body. A monitoring programme on the health of drinking water supplies will be developed after the project has been completed. As part of this programme, a number of studies are being carriedout to identify sources of contamination and establish the levels of pollution in the drinking supply. These studies include investigations into the quality of potable water available in areas where drinking wells have been closed down or their owners have moved away due to health risks. They aim to verify the reliability of information provided by local inhabitants who claim to know about the condition of these wells. An analysis of data collected through surveys conducted across the entire water distribution system showed that the majority of people do not use water from such facilities. However, some households appear to rely on them for drinking purposes. Such results highlight the importance of conducting regular inspections throughout the system to avoid any possible breaches of quality. Information obtained during the monitoring process will then be used to improve water treatment practices and to reduce the impact of contaminants in drinking waters. Furthermore, it will help to determine the effectiveness of different water purification techniques. Another important aspect of our work concerns the establishment of effective control mechanisms aimed at preventing contamination of groundwater. We therefore intend to carry out a systematic study of all potential points of entryexit of contaminated groundwaters which may become a source of public health problems. To this end, we will carryouts field experiments focused on groundwater quality monitoring along a long course of aqueducts connecting three different sites. Finally, another major element of Project 2 is the implementation of training programmes targeted at both civil service workers and residents involved in household activities. Our goal is to create a better understanding of issues related to water safety and quality and how they can be addressed.
Stay in Corfu and expierience a wonderful time.MenuA day trip to the Ionian Sea with my friend, Maria. We had a great time at Larnaka island, which is a nice little town surrounded by olive groves. I cant wait to go back! This picture was taken while we were eating lunch on the beach. The sun was setting and we could see a long line of people walking along the shore. There are two things I wanted to do on our day out hike up Mount Etna and see how it looks from the top. As we walked around the coast we saw all sorts of birds and animals, including seals and dolphins. It was really cool to see so many different species here. This view isnt very far away from what I would like to be able to experience in Europe. Maybe I will one day visit Corfiotia. I love the sea, the sky, and the people. Heres a picture of me taking a nap before dinner. My favorite thing about this picture is the sun setting behind us. That must have been really magical for the rest of us! My friend and I went hiking in Mvatn. A walk through beautiful fields of flowers and olive trees. Lots of wildlife. When you get there you want to stay as long as possible. Just take a break and go into town and eat some food. Then you just have to find your way back home. No one has ever told me that before. So exciting! I feel so much more relaxed when I am outdoors. And I always keep my camera handy. Always. Today we took a boat trip over the water. Our plan was to spend the afternoon exploring our little city, but the weather turned out to not cooperate. After several hours of waiting, we finally got to visit Vardar Castle, a place that I dont think weve ever been. Not only is it an incredible castle, it also has some great history. Before our trip, Varrin the lord had been in power for quite sometime, since the 14th century. He ruled in both Veneti and Albanian territories. In the 17th Century he came to power again, having conquered the whole southern part of Albania.
