In our records the tapwater in Berlin is bad. You can use tapwater to cook, but it is not drinkable. Please use bottled water.
While visiting Berlin you will notice the water quality is garbage. The city has one of the highest levels of pollution in the world, and it is getting worse. This is a good thing for the environment, but it means we are going to have to find a new way to get clean drinking water. As part of our journey to clean up Berlins water, there are a few things you should know about the city that you may not be aware of1. It can rain out here!Berlin has a temperate climate with very little rainfall. During the winter months, however, heavy rains occur regularly. If you are planning on staying in this area, make sure you bring a jacket because you might get soaked. Also, wear a hat or something that covers your ears when you go outside. There are also public toilets all over the place, so dont worry about having to use them. They are located right next to the train station. In addition, the streets near the center of town are usually paved with asphalt which makes walking around easier. You can walk anywhere from 24 kilometers without any problems. However, you do need to take care while driving since cars tend to stop at red lights. Dont forget to pay attention to signs telling you where to drive. As always, remember to wash your car before you leave. We recommend you park your vehicle somewhere as well. Remember to always lock your doors when leaving your apartment. Finally, if you plan on eating in Berlin, please make an effort to eat at one restaurant per day. That way you wont be missing out on the local cuisine. A good rule of thumb is to avoid restaurants that serve nonlocal cuisine such as sushi or hamburgers. Be sure to ask how long the food will be served. Sometimes they just keep serving it for a longer period of time. And even if they offer local food, sometimes they add sauces or ingredients that are not listed on their menu. These days, many restaurants charge a small fee for meals that come with wine. For more information, visit the Berlin City Guide. See the link below for more info.2. What are the regulations for smoking in public areas? You will probably hear some of these terms tossed around quite a bit in everyday conversations. First off, smoking is not allowed in most public places in Germany. Smoking is banned in bars, clubs, parks, etc.
