Water Pollution in Abidjan

The air and water quality in Abidjan is excellent, thanks to the efforts of local authorities.I was born in the French capital, but my mother moved with me to Abadisse, the former colony of Cte dIvoire, in 1976. When I was five years old, we moved to a rented house near a beach called Lorient. From there, my family went to live in Ouesso, a tiny town where many children were dying of malaria. I grew up learning about malaria, how to prevent it and what to do if you caught it. It was very exciting because when you are first exposed to this terrible disease, people dont want to know anything else. They will even tell you not to take any chances. We had no mosquito nets so we would go for long walks every day looking for them. My father did not believe in using mosquito netting as he said it could be dangerous. So whenever we went for a walk, he would come home with nothing more than a small bag filled with soil that he used to dig a little hole in front of our house. He would then leave some of the earth on top of his pottery wheel which was made out of clay. This became the first evidence of human habitation in this region. After two years, they stopped coming. The only reason why they came was to ask us for money. One day, I ran away from my father after he asked me for 1. In one hand, under the other arm, was a large bottle of brandy. A few minutes later, another child ran at me asking for bread. As I looked into his eyes, tears rolled down his face. Do not cry, he pleaded. Then all three ran off together. What can I say? They didnt care about me. How could they? I am now a citizen of AbadiisCtire.A month later during a rainy season, Mr. K.K. my father told me that the village of Louroungoue had just been bombed by rebel forces. There was no water anywhere. That evening, while I slept, fire broke out everywhere. Suddenly, loud bangs started ringing through the night. Someone opened the windows and the smell of smoke filled the room. By morning, there was nothing left except the ashes of a stove.

The city of a mere 2 million people is an incredible sight, with many sites worthy of exploration and you can rent bicycles if you want to see everything!.But there are some places that are just so spectacular that you really dont need to be in the country to enjoy them. These include1 A river gorge and two castles at AgnssurMarne, FranceThe city has a stunning natural setting riverside cliffs, steep cliffs and even steep hills! and a fascinating history dating back to Roman times. There are also a number of other beautiful spots here including the castle at Les Dames dAgns, the old fort at Lon, and an attractive park close to the Gare du Nord. However, these are definitely the best places to visit on your own as they require little or no prior knowledge of French history. There are a couple of restaurants where you could eat lunch while you explore. But itll cost you 35 for the first half hour and 50 for each additional hour. And remember that the train runs twice a day from Abafo to Gonaives about an hour.
